SOUND, SANE, SPOTTED AND SMOOTH TO RIDE!

The Sportaloosa is a unique modern spotted sport horse bred to be user friendly and competitive in the Olympic disciplines of jumping, dressage and eventing as well as cattle classes, reining, rodeo and endurance.

The Sportaloosa is a type where performance counts. This horse commonly stands between 15.2-16.2hh and it combines free effortless paces with a sensible, trainable mind. A keen headed horse with a good length of rein set high on prominent withers, medium length back and deep heart girth.

This spotted horse should have a long hip with strong quarters and well let down hocks, with short cannons and hard open feet. He should carry smooth long muscle to give strength and speed, not bulky or short to take away from stamina and athletic ability. The chief qualities are soundness, versatility, friendly nature and comfortable paces for whatever sport you choose to compete in.

The Sportaloosa can get his spots from the Appaloosa or Knabstrupper and can be outcrossed to Warmblood, Thoroughbred, Arabian, Andalusian, Lusitano, Friesian, Lippizaner, Stock Horse or Quarter Horse breeds. Crosses to grey, classic roan, paint or pinto are not eligible. His minimum mature height is 14hh.

The Sportaloosa's quiet friendly nature makes him especially suited to all the family and the weekend rider as well as appealing to the professional rider.
